— Ronald Reagan

"It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit."

"(You have a choice as to whether) you are either part of the steam roller or part of the road."
n
"We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are."

Each friend represents a world in us, a world not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."

Do you wish people to think well of you? Don't speak well of yourself.

In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.

When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad. That's my religion.

Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.

Do not be too moral. You may cheat yourself out of much life so. Aim above morality. Be not simply good, be good for something.

Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.

Whenever two good people argue over principles, they are both right.

He who is too busy doing good finds no time to be good.

Management is nothing more than motivating other people.

There are times when even the best manager is like the little boy with the big dog, waiting to see where the dog wants to go so he can take him there"

     Lee Iacocca quote

I have found that being honest is the best technique I can use. Right up front, tell people what you're trying to accomplish and  what you're willing to sacrifice to accomplish it.
  Lee Iacocca

I've always found that the speed of the boss is the speed of the team.
  Lee Iacocca

If I had to sum up in a word what makes a good manager, I'd say decisiveness. You can use the fanciest computers to gather the numbers, but in the end you have to set a timetable and act.
  Lee Iacocca

If you want to make good use of your time, you've got to know what's most important and then give it all you've got.
  Lee Iacocca

In times of great stress or adversity, it's always best to keep busy, to plow your anger and your energy into something positive.
Lee Iacocca

My father always used to say that when you die, if you've got five real friends, then you've had a great life.
  Lee Iacocca

No matter what you've done for yourself or for humanity, if you can't look back on having given love and attention to your own family, what have you really accomplished?
  Lee Iacocca

Talk to people in their own language. If you do it well, they'll say, 'God, he said exactly what I was thinking.' And when they begin to respect you, they'll follow you to the death.
  Lee Iacocca

The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.
  Lee Iacocca

The kind of people I look for to fill top management spots are the eager beavers, the mavericks. These are the guys who try to do more than they're expected to do - they always reach.
  Lee Iacocca

The one word that makes a good manager - decisiveness.
  Lee Iacocca

We are continually faced by great opportunities brilliantly disguised as insoluble problems.
  Lee Iacocca

"Motivation is everything. You can do the work of two people, but you can't be two people. Instead, you have to inspire the next guy down the line and get him to inspire his people."

     Lee Iacocca quote

"Life makes you walk that delicate balance between
making it happen and letting it happen."

- Rick Beneteau

"Ordinary people believe only in the possible.
Extraordinary people visualize not what is possible or
probable, but rather what is impossible. And by
visualizing the impossible, they begin to see it as
possible."

 - Cherie Carter-Scott

"Every waking moment we see our legacies in their
current state of being. The term "living legacy" is
more accurate because it is always now that our
quality of life will determine what we leave behind."

 - Steve Brunkhorst

Apply yourself. Get all the education you can, but then, by God, do something. Don't just stand there, make it happen.
  Lee Iacocca

Shift from a directive to a participatory management style

"Making initiatives successful is all about focus and passionate commitment. The drumbeat must be relentless. Every leadership action must demonstrate total commitment to the initiative."

—Jack Welch, Former CEO, General Electric

"The game of life is the game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later, with astounding accuracy." —Florence Shinn (1871-1940), Writer

"Some think it's holding on that makes one strong; sometimes it's letting go."

 —Sylvia Robinson

"You cannot live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you."

—John Wooden, College Basketball Coach

"Leaders focus on the soft stuff. People. Values. Character. Commitment. A cause. All of the stuff that was supposed to be too goo-goo to count in business. Yet, it's the stuff that real leaders take care of first. And forever. That's why leadership is an art, not a science."

—Tom Peters, Management Consultant

"A true teacher is not the one with the most knowledge, but one who causes the most others to have knowledge. A true Leader is not the one with the most followers, but one who creates the most Leaders. A true King is not the one with the most subjects, but one who leads the most to royalty."

—Neal Donald Walsch, Author

To think bad thoughts is really the easiest thing in the world. If you leave your mind to itself it will spiral down into ever increasing unhappiness. To think good thoughts, however, requires effort. This is one of the things that discipline - training – is about.

The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers:
Little we see in Nature that is ours.

-William Wordsworth

Our modern way of life seems to be making us busier and
busier about less and less. It is only after we begin to
taste the joy of simple living that we realize how much all
this frantic activity can stand between us and our
fulfillment. The more we divide our interests, our
allegiances, our activities, the less time we have for
living.

Loving, loyal personal relationships take time. We cannot
get to know someone intimately in a day or establish a
lasting relationship during a weekend conference. If we
spend eight hours a day at our job and the evening watching
television, where is the time for cultivating close
friendships? If we simplify our lives, we shall find the
time and energy to be together with our family and friends,
or to give our time to a worthy cause that needs our
contribution. The simple life doesn't mean bearing with a
drab routine; it means giving our time and attention to what
is most important.
